Biography

Carlos Santana is currently a PhD candidate in Computer Science at NTNU in Norway, focusing on the implications of blockchain and Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) in organizational and managerial studies. His research examines how these technologies can impact hierarchical organizations, businesses, and society. Carlos holds a Master’s degree in Social Innovation from the University of Verona, Italy, and an undergraduate degree in Law and Business Management from the University of Granada, Spain.

Motivation for the PhD

Carlos is driven by a passion for discovering innovative ways to facilitate trade, exchange, and resource sharing, aiming to reduce the costs of economic coordination and enhance collective action without relying on financial or governmental intermediaries. Pursuing a PhD will equip him with the theoretical and practical expertise necessary to develop and implement blockchain-based projects like DAOs, exploring their transformative potential for online communities and society.
